Best Tips For Law Students? Don’t Go

Kind of depressing, no?

What’s the best way to avoid dissatisfaction as a lawyer? Don’t go to law school to begin with. That’s the advice of Kirsten Wolf and David Wold, two new lawyers whose respective crusades against legal education are making their rounds in the blogosphere.

Wow, talk about demoralizing. As I’m planning on law school myself, this is an interesting read (and something I’ve heard echoes of before). Not actually being in the situation yet myself, I can’t offer much in the way of commentary - but if you come out of Boston University with a B+ and are having trouble, I’d hate to think what that means for people coming out of less prestigious schools.

Sorry, but they are just disgruntled that they chose the wrong career or were not successful in that career.

If she had put more thought into what she wanted to get out of law school and why she wanted to be a lawyer, this likely would not have happened.

You can make a very good living in law.

You can. I think the problem is, however, with the glut of lawyers a lot are not making a good living. While this particular person seemed a bit shrill, I’ve heard this a LOT when researching law school.

But, again, that’s not where I am at so I dunno.
