A Moleskine PDA

PlannerHack.com | Mike Rohde’s Custom Planner Hack

My capture of thoughts has increased since switching to a Moleskine planner. This is a good thing, because I’m now capturing ideas that were formerly floating away when faced with entering text using Graffiti on the Palm — even though I’m pretty quick and accurate with Graffiti 1.

I do love me some moleskine. I can’t honestly say I know why, but I do. You won’t find me anywhere without my little Moleskine Reporter notebook.  I generally eschew paper notes, because my handwriting sucks, and I have to then go about inputing it somewhere else for storage - but for quickly writing an idea down, nothing beats paper.

The link above is how to turn your moleskine notebook into a planner.  I can’t say I really see the appeal, as any planner where I have to do that much work isn’t one I’m going to use, but I do understand how many may like it.  Mike Rohde’s blog, by the way, is quite good - and I recommend it.  Lots of good info there.

Sorry it’s been kind of quiet the past few days, I’m rather ill so I imagine it’ll be rather low key till next week.

    Thanks for the mention!

Yes, creating a planner seems like a putzy ordeal, but I actually find the process fun. I quite like that I can make the planner what I want it to be, which is certainly a benefit over anything pre-printed.

And once you get a pen, straightedge and find a rhythm, it really goes pretty quickly drawing in the lines and then adding dates.
