When you do this sort of thing (blogging) you spend an enormous amount of time looking over RSS feeds and other blogs, looking for useful little jewels. Every once in great while you hit the jackpot as something you find both very useful in general, and useful to yourself in particular.
We all learn, work, and thrive in different ways. As you can imagine, I do not use everything I talk about on this site - but I present systems and tricks that may be of use to you all. But this post by Cal Newport at Study Hack is just brilliant and I plan on starting this Sunday.
The sad part is I read about this in one of his books I read a while back, and just completely forgot about it. Generally I tend to relax/party Friday and Saturday night, and study Saturday during the day and Sunday during the day (relaxing that evening.) This works pretty well for me, but I like “full days of not worrying about anything” MUCH better.
Here’s the idea: Friday and Saturday are a time to be social. Sunday morning and afternoon is a time for you to regroup, get organized, and get prepared for the upcoming week. To accomplish this, you need a Sunday ritual.
